Made for those who are born to shine
You would think that there is only so much one can do with a blanket. I mean, how many more prints & patterns can they possibly come up with? We thought the monochrome blanket print was a big trend. But then aden + anais go and up the ante – by launching their new metallic range.

Creating a contemporary yet whimsical nursery space for my hipster baby boy
What’s the first thing I did when I found out I was expecting? I took to Pinterest for some hardcore roomspiration. I had pretty severe insomnia throughout my first trimester, so I literally pinned. And pinned. I also pined (not pinned) when I found out #babyjake was a boy, but I very quickly realised that grey can be as exhilarating as pink.
You heard it hear first: Modern Burlap is officially available on SA shores! And we’re giving you 20% off!
I am a sucker for fabric prints, designs and patterns. So I have had my eye on Modern Burlap (together with the other 146k Instagram followers) for a while now. But I couldn’t get my hands on the actual product because it wasn’t available locally. Until now. Thanks to Full of Beans Baby & Kids Boutique, Modern Burlap has officially been ticked off my wish list… and I am the proud new owner of one of these blankets (I chose the Greatest Adventure one).
With the right balance of hipster swag and gentlemanly connoisseurship, this watch is the hallmark of the Modern Day Dad. It’s Time to Thank Dad and give the gift of time this Father’s Day
It may be thick, pasty and a pain in the (literal) ass to rub in, but Sudocrem has kept #babyjake 100% nappy rash free for all 18 months of his existence.
And apart from keeping his little bummy wummy soft and dry, there are many uses for this cream beyond the bum.
I can vouch for many of these (I am particularly skilled in use #14), but thankfully I don’t have much experience with others (#’s 11 and 16 would fall into this category). Whatever the ailment though, there is something in here for everyone.
This is the first, only and last blanket you’ll ever need for baby. And let’s not kid – it’s pretty cool using the same celebrity baby blanket as Prince George, Blue Ivy & Max Zuckerberg (to name drop just a few).
It’s hard to imagine why so much hype could be attached to something as simple as a baby blanket. Until I actually held an aden + anais muslin in my hands for the first time. It was legit softer than the newborn baby.
Of all the ridiculous baby suff that I feel was a waste of money, baby shoes are not one of them 🙂 I freaking love baby shoes. Yes, babies grow out of them quickly (so stick to buying cheap and cute). But there is nothing like a pair of teeny-tiny-real-life-miniature sneakers or pumps to complete an outfit.
The only downside to baby shoes is trying to figure out the sizes. It’s more complicated than hacking NASA. I’ve given up even trying to work it out.
Edgars is the last place on the planet that I would have thought to look at for trendy baby clothes. So when I discovered their insanely huge kid’s section (it took me over an hour to work my way through it), I had literal heart palpitations. My shopping addiction kicked in and now #babyjake is the proud owner of some seriously cool tees. For seriously reasonable prices.
#babyjake’s Trend Tip: Roll up and fold the sleeves (as I have done in some of the pics below). Then iron the fold in place. Gives the tshirt a much cooler edge 🙂
As with all aspects of modern parenting, gadgets and accessories are part and parcel of the journey. So here are my top picks for Must-Have-Pram-Accessories to pimp your baby’s ride.
And the best part: these aren’t just gimmicks – they all serve a rather extraordinary, life changing purpose.
